Mars Finance News, May 30 — The Information Office of the State Council of China held a meeting with Chinese and foreign journalists.

Jin Wei, a member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Vice Mayor of Beijing, said at the meeting that during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, Beijing will accelerate the realization of the “dual benchmarks” of leading in both the digital economy and the green economy, cultivate and strengthen strategic industries, and make advance plans for future industries.

Jin Wei said Beijing will be driven by intelligent development, with green initiatives as an important orientation, make good use of data as the newest and most active production factor, promote deep integration between the real economy and the digital economy, accelerate innovation in green technologies and their rollout and application, and grow and strengthen the green economy.

Jin Wei introduced that in strategic industries, Beijing will further enhance the international competitiveness of the two trillion-level industrial cluster groups—new-generation information technology and medical and health. Beijing will strive to cultivate the two industries of artificial intelligence and green low-carbon development into a new trillion-level industrial cluster group. It will also push a number of trillion-level industrial cluster groups—including integrated circuits, robotics and intelligent manufacturing, intelligent connected vehicles, aerospace technologies, new materials, and new safety and emergency response—to move to a higher level. In terms of future industries, Beijing will plan new tracks in advance and work to achieve core technological breakthroughs and large-scale applications in fields such as 6G, brain-computer interfaces, quantum technology, and bio-manufacturing.

Jin Wei also mentioned that Beijing will optimize and improve three categories of industries: productive services, living services, and modern agriculture. The key focus will be to consolidate and enhance the development advantages of the financial industry, strengthen and expand the technology services sector, and improve the internationalization level of business services; strengthen the supply of high-quality services such as education, health, elderly care, childcare, and domestic services, and reinforce quality brand building; and promote the transformation of modern agriculture toward a technology-innovation-driven model.
