Former NBA player Thompson sues World Mobile over up to $2 million token endorsement deal
Deep Tide TechFlow News, May 30th, according to Front Office Sports, former NBA player Tristan Thompson has filed a lawsuit against World Mobile Group, accusing the latter of prematurely terminating the WMTX token brand ambassador agreement signed by both parties, and continuing to use his name, portrait, and personal image for promotion without authorization after the agreement was terminated.
According to the lawsuit documents, the original agreement between the two parties was for two years, with Thompson eligible to receive up to $1 million worth of WMTX tokens annually, for a total maximum of $2 million, as compensation for promoting the WMTX token.
World Mobile stated that the reasons for terminating the agreement include Thompson not returning the excess tokens received and actions such as selling WMTX tokens.
Currently, both parties have different accounts, and the related allegations have not yet been adjudicated by the court. The case is still under further review.
