U.S. SEC Chair: Will Provide clearer Regulation for On-Chain Securities and Digital Assets

Golden Finance reports that on May 29, the Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Paul Atkins, delivered a speech in which he stated that the agency is advancing the "SEC New Era" regulatory reform, focusing on modernizing digital asset regulation, promoting on-chain capital markets development, and supporting the U.S. in becoming a global crypto hub. Recently, it has clarified which digital assets are securities and which are not, and is pushing forward an innovative exemption mechanism for "tokenized listed securities," while also studying how on-chain trading systems can be integrated into the existing regulatory framework.
In addition, Paul Atkins also emphasized that the SEC will reduce "over-disclosure" and regulatory burdens, promote the "Make IPOs Great Again" reform, including lowering compliance costs for listed companies, increasing IPO flexibility, and officially proposing to revoke the climate disclosure rules introduced during the previous government era.
