Lately, I've been noticing that on-chain data often "lags," but it's not necessarily your internet connection... Many times, it's the indexer/subgraph slowly processing blocks in the background, or RPCs being rate-limited, so the frontend can only show a spinning icon first. Especially when new L1/L2s launch incentives to attract TVL, everyone rushes in to check balances, claim tasks, refresh frequently, putting huge pressure on nodes, quickly exhausting free quotas, and it feels like the tide suddenly becomes much more intense.

To put it simply, what you see as "real-time" is actually someone organizing all that raw on-chain data for you beforehand; when the organizers are overwhelmed, there's a delay. I can also understand long-time users complaining about "mining, selling, and buying," I mean, the excitement is real, but when the infrastructure gets overwhelmed, that frustration is quite genuine.

Now I tend to watch a bit slower, wait for one or two more blocks to confirm, or try a different RPC... As for which layer is slacking off, it's hard to say for sure.
