Federal judge demands Trump respond to $1.8 billion fund settlement dispute
Deep Tide TechFlow News, May 30th, according to The Washington Post, a federal judge in the United States on May 29th local time demanded that Trump and his family’s legal team explain a highly controversial settlement agreement. The agreement involves a lawsuit Trump previously filed against the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and establishes a compensation fund of approximately $1.8 billion.
The judge’s ruling stated that the agreement faces “serious allegations of fraud,” requiring Trump’s side to explain why this arrangement constitutes a reasonable resolution of the lawsuit and why it should not be deemed legally flawed.
According to previously disclosed documents, Trump and the federal government have reached a settlement regarding the lawsuit against the IRS. The agreement, in addition to establishing a compensation fund, also includes provisions restricting the IRS from continuing investigations or audits related to certain existing tax filings. The court has not yet made a final ruling on the legality of the agreement.
