Trump Rejects Country Control of Strait of Hormuz as Closure Drives Energy Shock

Trump said no individual country should control the Strait of Hormuz as the shutdown has lifted U.S. gas prices 49% to $4.46. He said the strait is international waters and should be open to everybody. Hormuz has operated at a near standstill since February 28, with a fifth of global oil supply normally running through the pathway.
