The U.S. military says it will carry out military operations near the Strait of Hormuz

On May 29th local time, the U.S. Central Command warned that military operations will be conducted near the Strait of Hormuz and ships involved in or supporting mine-laying activities will be struck in self-defense. The U.S. Central Command issued a notice through the Joint Maritime Information Center stating that Iran is still attempting to hinder mine-clearing operations and safe navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and any ships found participating in mine-laying activities could become targets of U.S. military strikes. Meanwhile, the U.S. military stated that it is still enforcing a maritime blockade against Iran. As of May 29th, 115 commercial ships have been forced to change course. (CCTV News)
