The ceasefire agreement in Gaza is dead in all but name, with Netanyahu ordering the expansion of the Gaza control zone to 70%.
According to the Financial Times, Netanyahu has demanded expanding the Gaza control zone from 60% to 70% to pressure Hamas and deviate from last year’s U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues, with about 2 million people compressed into a narrow area and deaths exceeding 900. Meanwhile, Israel is carrying out a voluntary migration plan, which critics say amounts to ethnic cleansing.
