Deep Tide TechFlow News: On May 29, according to Decrypt, the Kyiv regional prosecutor’s office in Ukraine has completed a pre-trial investigation into a criminal gang led by two former police colonels. The members include 4 former police officers and 1 civilian with a criminal record. The suspects used law enforcement skills and official resources to impersonate police officers, carry out surveillance, kidnap victims, and issue gun threats to at least 4 cryptocurrency entrepreneurs, forcing victims to sign forged debt documents. The total extortion amounts to approximately $2.2 million. One victim was forced to sign a false “debt agreement” for $5 million. The gang was arrested in November 2025, and the case has been transferred to the court.
