↳ 2,000 trafficked workers rescued
The operation targeted scam networks linked to Cambodia, Myanmar, Dubai, and Thailand.
How the scam worked:
➜ Victims were contacted through dating and social media apps
➜ Trust was built over weeks
➜ Users were pushed into fake crypto investment platforms
➜ Forced workers allegedly operated scam centers under slavery-like conditions
FBI’s “Operation Level Up” directly contacted 8,935 victims and reportedly prevented $562M in losses.
FBI Director Kash Patel called scam compounds “modern-day criminal enterprises built to steal from Americans.”
Even after this seizure, crypto scams are still estimated to steal $64B per year.
