Cboe's extension of trading hours this time directly excludes small and mid-cap stocks with a market value threshold of 50 billion, clearly playing the liquidity game well.

Cboe approved by the SEC to provide pre-market and after-hours trading sessions for certain stock options
Cboe has obtained SEC approval to extend trading hours starting July 13 for certain listed multi-stock options: pre-market 7:30–9:25 ET, and after-hours 16:00–16:15 ET. The first batch will cover about 20 highly liquid underlying assets, such as Nvidia, Tesla, Apple, Palantir, Broadcom, and AMD. Conditions: average daily trading volume of at least 150,000 contracts over the past six months, underlying market value of at least $50 billion, and average daily trading volume of at least 10,000,000 shares. This measure is intended to better align with extended trading and help investors manage risk during major events.
