My current approach to choosing between L2 and the mainnet is basically this: if the money is small and I’m doing operations frequently, I’ll just use L2. The experience is smooth anyway, and I don’t mind the gas fees. If I really need to do something “important” (like large-scale rebalancing, cleaning up authorizations, or contract interactions where you could easily mess up), then I’ll still go back to the mainnet and click slowly instead. It’s more expensive—yeah—but in my heart it feels more solid… Basically, it’s like paying money to buy peace of mind.

Recently, I’ve also been seeing all kinds of new L1/L2 projects offering rewards to boost TVL. Old users complain about “mine, then sell,” and I really can relate: when traffic comes in, the bridge, RPC, and the frontend all get clogged. The worst part is when I overthink for those 30 seconds—confirming a chain, confirming a route—only to find the gas changes, the slippage changes, and I’m just done for. Forget it. If you can reduce cross-chain moves, do so. If you do cross-chain, split it into smaller amounts. Don’t spend half the day studying your own clearing/exit logic only to end up crashing on the bridge.
