The morning alarm went off three times before I finally got up. While I was scrolling through group chats, I kept seeing the same screenshots being endlessly reposted—things like “a certain stablecoin is about to depeg” and “reserve audits are not transparent.” The more they were shared, the more panicked I became; my emotions were moving faster than the facts. Speaking of governance too, many people buy governance tokens, but end up being too lazy to actually click to vote, so they directly delegate their votes away. It’s convenient, sure—but in the end, it turns into a few big accounts “governing” on everyone’s behalf. To be blunt, who are they actually governing…? Sometimes when I look at on-chain records, I see an address holding a bundle of delegated votes, like someone with a universal access card: whether a proposal passes or not just comes down to whether he decides to lift a finger. Anyway, my current habit is: if I can avoid signing things randomly, I won’t sign them. And I don’t delegate either, not casually. I’d rather participate less than package up my voice and hand it to someone else.
