Kai-Fu Lee's internal speech: AGI will reshape all industries. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that comes around only every few generations. Leaving the stage is like turning off the lights just before dawn.

Abstract generation in progress

Golden Finance reports that on May 28th, during an internal speech celebrating the third anniversary of Zero One All Things, Kai-Fu Lee stated: "Why am I still starting a new business at this stage of life and career? The reason is simple: AGI will reshape all industries—this is a once-in-decades opportunity, and it has been my dream for 45 years. I still keep that yellowed doctoral application letter, and the dream in my heart has never faded. The outside world calls this my 'last dance,' but this is not a curtain call; it is the most clear game I have ever played in my life.

We call ourselves Zero One All Things, inspired by the Dao De Jing. 'The Dao gives birth to One,' which is recognizing AGI from zero to one, allowing Zero One to go from nothing to something; 'One gives birth to Two,' where we endured the intense tug-of-war between yin and yang; 'Two gives birth to Three,' where we forced out a third path between the two poles, establishing the 'Three' amidst chaos; and 'Three gives birth to all things'—from today, it is time for us to use this set of skills to change the world.

These three years have not been smooth sailing. A year and a half ago, during our darkest hour, the outside world predicted our exit from the game and that our team would collapse sooner or later. Some friends even advised me to cut staff to ten people and rely on the funds in the account to lie flat for over a decade. They don’t understand me—starting a business for the opportunities of the era and a lifelong dream, how can I give up? In my view: retreating is like turning off the lights just before dawn. That is the struggle of 'One gives birth to Two': the collision between technological faith and brutal commercial reality, bringing pain, pessimism, and self-doubt. But this skin-peeling, muscle-stripping tug-of-war forced us to reverse our strategy and refuse to compete internally."
