The 18-day "Chuan-Yu Tour" by Taiwan’s well-known internet celebrity "Guan Zhang" Chen Zhi-Han has now completed the Chongqing segment. Since arriving in Chongqing on May 25, 2026, Guan Zhang has livestreamed throughout via his YouTube and Bilibili channels, recording and sharing multiple visits and experiences in Chongqing, with over 560k viewers on the first day alone.

Based on his livestream content, the Chongqing itinerary mainly covers three aspects: historical and cultural sightseeing, local industry experiences, and infrastructure inspections.

Visiting historical sites and city landmarks

At the start of the trip, Guan Zhang visited representative historical attractions in Chongqing, including Jiefangbei (Victory Memorial of the War of Resistance) and Chongqing Anti-Japanese War Memorial Museum, and especially paid respects at the Taiwan Liberation Memorial. During the livestream, he called on viewers to remember history, noting that many mainland Chinese cities have well-preserved wartime memorial facilities. He urged Taiwanese people not to forget this history and explicitly emphasized: "Both sides of the strait are Chinese."

In terms of city sightseeing, the itinerary included several of Chongqing’s popular influencer landmarks:

  • Night tour of Hongya Cave and Yangtze River Cableway: Experience Chongqing’s unique three-dimensional transportation and vibrant night scenery as a "mountain city."
  • Guan Yin Bridge commercial area and Ciqikou Ancient Town: Walk through bustling commercial districts and traditional ancient towns, interacting with enthusiastic mainland fans who came to take photos and gather around.
  • Lizi Bay Light Rail through Buildings: Witness Chongqing’s distinctive urban rail transit design.
  • Local cuisine experiences: Tasted authentic Chongqing spicy hotpot and boiled frogs.

Visiting motorcycle factories and test-driving new energy vehicles

Besides sightseeing, industrial experiences were a key part of this Chongqing trip. On May 26, Guan Zhang visited the Zhang Xue Motorcycle Factory in Chongqing and met with founder Zhang Xue. He personally interacted with the "Five Crowns" 820RR champion motorcycle, which he said is not only expensive and hard to find in Taiwan but also likely the first time a Taiwanese streamer has personally touched this model.

Additionally, Guan Zhang test-drove Chinese brand new energy cars (such as Huajing S). During the livestream, he showcased features like large screens, in-car refrigerators, sofas, and intelligent driving systems, and expressed surprise at the price of about 159.8k RMB (roughly NT$700k). He lamented that mainland consumers are "really lucky" and turned his criticism toward Taiwan, condemning certain politicians for hindering the introduction of affordable Chinese electric vehicles into Taiwan for profit.

Witnessing Chongqing East Station infrastructure, previewing the move to Chengdu

At the end of the Chongqing trip (around May 27), Guan Zhang visited the "Chongqing East Station," praised by Elon Musk himself. Confronted with this world-class high-speed rail station built in just 38 months, Guan Zhang was visibly shocked, repeatedly emphasizing "38 months" and exclaiming "Great Chongqing, great motherland."

Currently, Guan Zhang’s Chongqing station itinerary has officially concluded. According to plans, the second half of the "Chuan-Yu Tour" will shift focus to Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Future livestreams are expected to cover Chengdu attractions such as the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, Kuanzhai Alley, and Du Fu Thatched Cottage, with ongoing updates likely to continue attracting attention from netizens across the Taiwan Strait.
