Institutional players now hedge more smoothly, but the main liquidity remains in ETF options and offshore perpetuals; CME just fixed a timing bug.

Bitcoin "CME Gap" may become a thing of the past, as CME Bitcoin futures will support 24/7 trading
Starting this Friday, CME will fully enable 7×24-hour trading of Bitcoin futures and options, with only a 1-hour maintenance window on Sunday. This move essentially eliminates the CME gap, making the market more consistent with a 24/7 structure, reducing weekend risk, and improving hedging efficiency. However, institutional liquidity is still mainly driven by ETF options and offshore perpetual contracts. There are currently 3 gaps that have not yet been filled, located above approximately 80,000, above 78,500, and below 70,000.
