Deep Tide TechFlow news: On May 28, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Development and Reform Commission jointly issued the “Guidelines for Artificial Intelligence Metrology System and Capacity Building (2026 Edition),” providing a systematic plan for the development of AI metrology capabilities. The “Guidelines” are structured around six major areas—foundational support, general technologies, core technologies, metrology technical standards, the metrology services industry, and intelligent empowerment of metrology—aiming to bridge the “last mile” between lab innovation and industry applications. Focusing on the challenge of “measurement uncertainty,” the initiative makes AI more trustworthy. To address pain points such as algorithm “black boxes” and poor decision interpretability, the “Guidelines” set out key technical breakthroughs, including monitoring and characterizing internal states of AI systems, to help establish reliable, safe, and trustworthy AI metrology standards and ensure that AI technology performance is “measurable, comparable, and traceable.” (Jin10)
