CryptoWorld News reports that IBM, together with its open-source software subsidiary Red Hat, has officially launched the “Project Lightwell” initiative, which will invest $5,000,000,000 and mobilize more than 20,000 full-time engineers to use cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology to build secure cleanup mechanisms, identify and fix security vulnerabilities in large-scale open-source software. Currently, Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, Visa, Mastercard, Wells Fargo, and Morgan Stanley have already joined the platform as early partners. Project Lightwell will greatly expand its protective scope to cover a broader open-source technology ecosystem, including AI frameworks, code repositories, and distributed data streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka.
