In the past, when talking about cross-chain, everyone would just say "use a bridge," now I would instead think: who do we actually trust in the middle when message goes from A to B this time?
IBC, which looks more "native," isn't just air transmission; the security of light clients, validator sets, the security of both chains themselves, and the space for relay maliciousness all need to be considered;
Compared to common bridges, the custody/multisig/oracles/signers are all unavoidable.
To put it simply, cross-chain isn't "transferring assets," it's "giving a proof to another world to trust."
Recently, with extreme funding rates, the group is again arguing whether to reverse or continue squeezing the bubble, I just feel: don't just watch the charts, breaking this "trust chain" on-chain is more stimulating than funding rates.
That's all for now.
