Many people see AI tool directory sites, and their first reaction is: Has this field already been overdone? This judgment is half correct. If you still want to create a directory site that "lists 10,000 AI tools" and rely on SEO and organic traffic to generate revenue through ads, affiliate links, or memberships, this path is indeed much more difficult than two years ago. The reason isn't that AI tools are no longer used, but that the information environment has changed. users don't lack tool lists; they lack judgment; they don't lack a new directory page; they lack the ability to know which to choose, how to use them, and whether it's worth paying for in specific scenarios. What's more complicated is that search engines and AI assistants are now directly answering many recommendation questions, and the old approach of relying on bulk pages to target long-tail keywords is becoming increasingly unstable.
