Recently, I’ve been looking for software to view stocks on my computer, and I found that using a phone really isn’t enough—especially when I want to analyze technical indicators. The small screen simply can’t be expanded enough to show everything. Desktop applications do have advantages that mobile can’t match: a larger display, faster processing, and the ability to open multiple windows at the same time to watch different markets. For serious traders, this makes a big difference.

After trying several options, TradingView’s charting features are truly excellent. It offers 100+ technical indicators and drawing tools, along with an impressively comprehensive database. You can look up US stocks, Taiwan stocks, forex, and cryptocurrencies, and the interface is unexpectedly simple—so beginners can get started quickly. However, it can’t place orders on its own; you need to connect it to a broker separately.

If you want an all-in-one solution, Mitrade’s desktop program is very smooth and convenient. It has both a web version and a desktop version, with a simple and intuitive interface. It also supports a wide range of international assets, and for users in Taiwan, deposits and withdrawals in New Taiwan Dollars are especially convenient. Interactive Brokers’ Trader Workstation is packed with features, but honestly, it may be a bit overwhelming for beginners—it’s more suitable for experienced traders.

Sanchuan Stock Market is a long-standing choice for watching Taiwan stocks. It provides 24 technical indicators and multiple watchlist/viewing modes, which is very practical for investors in Taiwan. Futu NiuNiu, on the other hand, offers broader support for Hong Kong and US stocks.

When choosing, you still need to consider your own needs. If you want the most powerful charting tools, go with TradingView. If you want a simple, convenient integrated trading setup, check out Mitrade or Futu. If you want professional-level access to the entire market, consider Interactive Brokers. Watching stocks on a computer really can improve trading efficiency—but choosing the right tool matters even more.
