Deep Tide TechFlow News: On May 28, according to official sources, Aztec Labs has acquired Obsidion—the team behind ZKPassport. While continuing to develop ZKPassport, the Obsidion team will also be responsible for developing new consumer-facing products. The ZKPassport protocol will continue to remain open source.

Aztec Labs said that ZKPassport enables users to prove their age, nationality, or sanctions status based on government-issued ID documents without uploading personal data to any server, and that personal data will not leave the user’s device. It has been supported in more than 130 countries and regions and has been used for nationality and sanctions compliance verification in the Aztec Network token sale.
