Trump warns allies Oman: Those who don't follow the rules will be bombed to smithereens
BlockBeats News. On Wednesday, May 28, U.S. President Trump, local time, commented on reports about Iran and Oman jointly controlling the Strait of Hormuz. He said that Oman “will perform well,” and refused any such mechanism—“otherwise we will have to bomb them.”
Iranian authorities have proposed cooperating with Omani authorities to control and regulate maritime traffic in the strait located between Iran and Oman. At the same time, Iran had considered establishing a joint fee collection mechanism with Oman, but the United States opposed this proposal.
In response to this proposal, after the cabinet meeting, Trump told reporters: “No one can control the strait. The strait will be open to everyone,” and the U.S. would “closely monitor this matter.” Trump added: “Oman will act like other countries, otherwise we will have to bomb them. They understand this, so nothing will happen.”
