Golden Finance reports that on May 28, early this morning (May 28), the head of Iran’s National Security Commission of the Parliament said that Iran will not back down because of remarks by U.S. President Trump and will “hold the red lines” in negotiations with the United States—namely, Iran’s uranium enrichment capability and its stockpile of enriched uranium, control of the Strait of Hormuz, as well as sanctions being lifted. Earlier, during a cabinet meeting, Trump said he was dissatisfied with the progress of U.S.-Iran negotiations, also saying he does not accept the new management mechanism for the Strait of Hormuz that Iran and Oman are discussing, is not considering easing sanctions on Iran for the time being, and does not accept reaching an agreement first before further talks on nuclear issues.
