Golden Finance reports that on May 28th, United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby stated on Wednesday that as oil prices decline and demand remains resilient, the company is gradually offsetting the impact of high fuel costs. He is increasingly confident about this and believes the airline could achieve a double-digit pre-tax profit margin next year. Kirby said at the Bernstein Investor Conference that before the Iran situation caused fuel prices to rise, United Airlines was expected to achieve a double-digit profit margin this year. He noted that falling oil prices have lowered the threshold for the airline to fully offset the impact of fuel costs through revenue, and added that the process of achieving 100% recovery is likely moving forward.
