Singapore sues former Hodlnaut CEO Zhu Jun Tao for fraud
Singapore charges former Hodlnaut CEO Zhu Jun Tao with six counts of false statements and fraud, alleging that in 2022 he claimed via Telegram and email to employees and clients that he was not exposed to the TerraUSD collapse and had not suffered losses, repeating this in three tweets. If convicted, each count carries a maximum sentence of 20 years. Hodlnaut collapsed in May 2022, resulting in losses of approximately $189.7 million, with restructuring disclosures revealing about $317 million of user funds invested in the Anchor protocol, which had an annualized return of about 19.5% before the collapse. The company stopped withdrawals in August 2022, then entered judicial management and liquidation.
