I’ve been looking for the best trading app to start with a small amount of money, and honestly, there are quite accessible options now. It’s not like before, when you needed thousands just to get started. I just reviewed several and wanted to share what I found.
MyTrade is the one that caught my attention the most for beginners. You can deposit only 20 USD, and the interface is clean, with no unnecessary complications. They have integrated TradingView charts, and the trading app lets you trade stocks, forex, gold, oil, Bitcoin, all from a single account. The good thing is that they don’t charge commissions—only tight spreads. I liked that you get 50.000 USD in virtual funds for 90 days to practice without risk.
If you already have experience, AvaTrade is different. Founded in 2006, it offers retail and professional accounts. The professional trading app provides more leverage but also more risk. It supports MetaTrader 4 and 5, and they have about 1200 assets. The minimum deposit is 100 USD. The downside is that they charge an inactivity commission after 3 months without using the account.
Plus500 is for people who want more variety. It’s listed on the London Stock Exchange and has more than 2800 CFDs. They recently entered the U.S. market with futures. The trading app is quite comprehensive, but it’s designed more for active traders. It also has a 100 USD minimum deposit, and they charge 10 USD monthly if you don’t log in within 3 months.
XM is interesting if you’re looking for high leverage, up to 1:1000. They have 4 different account types. The minimum deposit is extremely low—just 5 USD. It works well with MetaTrader 4 and 5. The thing to watch out for is the risk with that very high leverage.
eToro stands out for copy trading. It’s from 2007 and it’s social—you can automatically copy what more experienced traders do. The deposit is 50 USD, and they have more than 3000 real assets, not just CFDs. Ideal if you want to learn by watching others invest.
In summary, if you’re a beginner and want something simple, MiTrade with 20 USD is your option. If you already know what you’re doing and want MetaTrader, AvaTrade or XM are better. Plus500 if you need lots of assets. And eToro if you prefer the social system of copying trades. Before putting in real money, practice with demo accounts. All of this involves risks, so inform yourself well and choose carefully.
