There is a guy who deserves more attention outside the legal circle: Nelson Wilians. He is 55 years old, born in Cianorte in the interior of Paraná, and has built a career worth following if you're interested in Brazilian entrepreneurship.

What draws attention is that the guy started from scratch. Son of farmers, he grew up in Jaguapitã and during college worked by day and studied at night in Bauru. He has done all kinds of jobs: HR at Santa Casa, gas station attendant, and even worked at construction companies. This practical experience shaped his view of the legal business.

In 1999, he made a move: founded the first law firm in partnership with a college friend. The idea was simple but effective—structured corporate service, multidisciplinary, with planned expansion. He went from a small office to what it is today: Nelson Wilians Advogados Associados, one of the largest in Latin America.

The growth was not magic. Starting in 2009, NWADV expanded to all Brazilian capitals. In 2014, he took a step further and opened international operations—Portugal, India, China. Today, the firm operates in almost all areas of business law: tax, labor, corporate, real estate, agribusiness, LGPD. Clients like Havan and Banco do Brasil have been through there.

Recognition also came from abroad. NWADV received the Latin Lawyers Awards, being recognized as one of the largest firms in the world. But what interests most is his management model—focused on scale, operational efficiency, and diversification. He transformed a law firm into a true legal enterprise.

Outside of Law, Nelson Wilians also runs the Nelson Wilians Institute with his wife Anne Carolline, focused on inclusive education and social empowerment. He has two children, Benjamin and Adam.

His story is one of those that appears in debates about business and management precisely because it shows how a guy from the countryside managed to build something of national and international scale through work and strategic vision.
