Hey, I found out something important that I didn't really know: the trading hours of global stock exchanges vary a lot depending on where you're operating from. For those investing here in Brazil, that changes EVERYTHING in your strategy.

So, the US stock market (NYSE/NASDAQ) opens at 9:30 AM in New York, which here in Brasília becomes 10:30. But there's a tricky detail: when daylight saving time changes in the US (from March to November), it also shifts here. B3, on the other hand, opens at 10:00 BRT directly, without this daylight saving confusion.

What I found cool is that there's overlap between the markets. For example, when the US stock market hours are happening (10:30-17:00 BRT), that's when most Brazilians are also trading. During this period, liquidity increases significantly because Wall Street and Brazil are on the same wave.

Then there's Europe, which opens earlier: London closes at 5:00 BRT, Paris as well. And Asia? Tokyo opens at 21:00 the previous day (BRT), China too, roughly. So basically, the markets operate like 24 hours a day when you combine everything.

For those wanting to make the most of it, the period between 10:30 and 13:30 BRT is pure gold because the US and Europe are open at the same time. But some people also like to catch the Asian openings, which happen in the early morning for us.

An important detail: each stock exchange has its own time zone, and some countries don't observe daylight saving time (like China, India, and Saudi Arabia), so their hours don't change throughout the year. This makes planning much easier.

If you want to trade specifically during the US stock market hours, you need to stay alert because, depending on the time of year, it might open 30 minutes earlier or later than you're used to. It can be confusing if you don't note this.

B3 operates like this: pre-opening from 9:45-10:00, then continuous trading until 16:55, and closing auction until 17:00. Quite simple compared to the timezone chaos of trading abroad.

The point is: if you want to seize the best opportunities on different exchanges, you really need to know these hours. It's not just about knowing when they open; it's about understanding when things are most active, when more people are trading, when liquidity is high. That changes the game entirely for anyone looking to make money with trading.
