Bonsai 4B has open-sourced both 1-bit quantization and ternary three-value quantization. Under the Apache 2.0 license, the era of open/free edge-device generation has arrived.

PrismML releases Bonsai 4B image generation model, designed for edge devices, with a size of 0.93GB; offers two ultra-lightweight compressed versions: 1-bit (0.93GB) and ternary (1.21GB), with 1-bit optimized for low memory, retaining about 88% of performance, and being 8.3 times smaller than full precision; ternary improves image quality and prompt fidelity through ternarization of weights, retaining approximately 95% of performance. Simultaneously, Bonsai Studio mobile app is launched, allowing offline full-generation on iPhone, with no subscription and no cloud API requests. Both versions are open-sourced under Apache 2.0.
