Many people often confuse IR with PR, wondering what IR actually is and how it differs. In fact, IR stands for Investor Relations, which is completely different from an organization's public relations.



Simply put, the IR team acts as an intermediary that helps investors understand the company by providing clear financial data, performance results, and corporate strategies. It’s not just about creating a positive image of the company, but about helping investors make informed and appropriate investment decisions.

Why is IR an important position? Because the IR team must coordinate between the accounting department, management, analysts, and various investors. They need to understand business operations, finance, capital markets, and be able to communicate complex information in an understandable way. It’s not an easy task.

The main responsibility of the IR team is to prepare annual reports, financial information, organize shareholder meetings, and communicate with analysts in the stock market. They must ensure that the disclosed information is accurate and compliant with legal regulations.

For example, it can reduce the company's financing costs because when investors understand the true value of the company, they will assign a stock price that reflects its correct worth.
