The best state for a trader is to occasionally pause, to actively choose to stop after a certain phase.
This is an extremely mature trading mindset and wisdom.
When you make a profit, you should stop and enjoy the victory, not chase after more.
When you incur a loss, you should stop to prevent losing control, not quickly try to make it back.
This habit of occasionally pausing will help you completely detach from emotions and ego,
standing outside the market to see yourself clearly.
After each detachment, when you return to the market, you will have an incredibly clear perspective and a very calm mindset.
Often, initial trades will go smoothly, and both gains and losses will be more accepting.
A trader who doesn't know how to actively stop will often, after a big profit, quickly give it all back to the market, including the principal.
Likewise, after a big loss, they may collapse mentally, leading to destructive actions that blow up their account.
Therefore, even if the market gives you opportunities, even if you capture profits, it all ends up empty.
And this will trigger you to repeat the cycle, because you've seen profits before, which constantly tempt you to deposit and trade.
You convince yourself that this time is different, but the truth is, you haven't changed at all.
Every time, it's the same—no matter how much you've earned during the period, you end up giving it all back to the market.
No one always loses; the real reason you go bankrupt is that the market keeps encouraging you with floating profits,
but you've never seen your own vulnerabilities and human weaknesses.
Until you're broke, you realize it's beyond repair.
True change begins at this moment—when you choose to stop.
Whether you profit or lose, as long as you reach your goal or red line,
regardless of how many opportunities and temptations the market presents,
you can actively step away, completely detach from the trading world,
and focus on every subtle aspect of life.
Trading is not your everything; it is just one way of living.
Detaching means not watching the charts, not listening to news, not paying attention to anything related to the market,
completely disappearing from the market.
When you return, everything is anew.
Past profits become your principal, and you should cherish this capital.
All past losses are wiped out.
You must eliminate the impulse to recover losses.
This is the true meaning of actively leaving the market.
It allows you to start over after gains and losses,
rather than being driven by desire and fear like a perpetual motion machine.
I hope every trader can occasionally pause,
and in the end, you will thank me for everything $ETH I’ve said.
