These past two days I’ve been refreshing the mempool until my eyes ache. Then I turned around and realized that most of my time has actually been spent clicking through all kinds of social mining tasks: checking in, reposting, joining groups, changing my avatar to get badges… In short, it’s like I’m working for points. The moment there’s truly a chance on-chain, I end up lagging—then I rush in and get taught a lesson by slippage. Who can I blame? Me, I guess.
Now Layer 2 is starting to compare things again—TPS, fees, subsidies—bickering like a fan circle. I love watching the drama too, but I’ve started setting a rule for myself: can the badges be exchanged for “exit-capable” returns? If not, then forget it. No matter how gold-plated my identity looks, it won’t cover my gas for me. Anyway, for someone impulsive like me, what I fear most isn’t losing money—it’s being led around by a bunch of points while still feeling self-satisfied… for now, that’s all.
