Kyrgyzstan Launches Gold-Backed Stablecoin in Crypto Hub Push

Arsen Edilbek uulu said Kyrgyzstan launched a state stablecoin backed by physical gold after the Ministry of Finance received about $100 million to buy gold. Edilbek uulu said the gold is held in a new Kyrgyz vault and the token is fully owned by the Ministry of Finance. Edilbek uulu said CZ holds a Kyrgyz passport and serves as an unpaid adviser to the country's president. Edilbek uulu said Kyrgyzstan is preparing banking-law changes that would allow banks to interact with virtual assets and act as custodians.
