[Supreme Court: Will Develop Ruling Rules for New Types of Cases Such as Virtual Currencies]

The State Council Information Office held a series of themed press conferences titled “Getting off to a Strong Start for the 15th Five-Year Plan,” introducing information related to “advancing comprehensive law-based governance.” Liu Guixiang, a deputy minister-level full-time member of the Adjudication Committee of the Supreme People’s Court and a second-level justice, said that the Supreme People’s Court will conduct in-depth research on ruling rules for new types of cases such as virtual currencies and cross-border finance, and will promptly formulate civil-compensation judicial interpretations involving insider trading and market manipulation to ensure the steady operation of the capital market and protect the lawful rights and interests of small and medium investors. In addition, he said that, in response to new business models in the digital economy, the Supreme People’s Court will study and develop normative documents on judicial protection of cases involving artificial intelligence and data property rights, and improve judicial rules concerning issues such as data ownership, data transactions, and AI-generated content. $HYPE
