Been testing different commodity trading platforms lately and honestly, the options are wild now. Started with Mitrade because everyone was talking about it - gotta say, the spreads are solid and the leverage on metals is pretty nice. CFD model means you can short stuff which is clutch when markets get weird.
But here's the thing about commodity trading platforms - they're not all the same. eToro has this copy trading feature that's actually useful if you're just starting out. Plus500 keeps it super simple, no commissions which I appreciate. IG Group though? Their research tools are insane if you're into deep analysis.
The spread varies wildly depending on the platform. CMC Markets has tight spreads but the interface took me a minute to figure out. Saxo Bank and Interactive Brokers are more for people who know what they're doing - lots of advanced features but steeper learning curve.
If you're just getting into commodities, I'd honestly compare a few platforms first. Try their demo accounts, see which interface clicks with you. Fees matter but execution speed matters more when you're trading oil or gold - prices move fast. Most of these commodity trading platforms now let you trade energy, metals, and agricultural stuff in one place which is convenient.
Anyone else comparing platforms right now? Curious what people are actually using for their setups.
