[Is a million yuan enough to buy a household registration?]

The State Council issued the "Implementation Opinions on Promoting Basic Public Services in the Place of Residence," which includes strengthening the educational support for children of migrant workers, implementing basic public education services provided by the place of residence.
In other words, children can now attend school in their place of residence without having to send them back to their hometown for school, which is truly a lifeline for many who have fought in Beijing for years but still lack a household registration.
The document also mentions continuously expanding general high school education resources and relaxing the conditions for participating in the high school entrance exam (Zhongkao) in the inflow areas based on local circumstances, meaning they can now take the Zhongkao.
So, does this mean the college entrance exam (Gaokao) will also be relaxed? The current document does not mention it, but will it gradually open up in the future?
Many people around me leave Beijing with their families when their children are about to start elementary school; making such a choice in middle age is not easy. I support the policy’s original intention of allowing all children to enjoy fair education.
But I feel sorry for my own child. I spent nearly one million yuan just for a broken household registration in Beijing, and it might all be for nothing in the future, with no help for the Gaokao.
I originally thought my child could have an easier time; Beijing only has about 70,000 to 80,000 Gaokao candidates each year, less than one-tenth of Henan or Shandong. But given the current trend, the competition will only intensify. The 80s and 90s are truly the most tragic generation, without equal.
