Optimism announces the first adjustment to OP Mainnet transaction ordering rules, launching a four-week experiment of "staking-based priority ordering." Previously, the ordering mainly followed "priority to the highest Gas fee," but the new mechanism allows participants to stake at least 100,000 OP tokens into the PolicyEngineStaking contract to gain priority block positions. During the first week of the experiment, a first-come, first-served mechanism will be used; from the second to the fourth week, a staking time-weighted multiplier will be introduced. Optimism states that this experiment is voluntary; transactions from non-participants will remain ordered according to the existing rules, and the current priority Gas fee bidding mechanism will continue to operate.
