Mars Finance News reported on May 26, citing CCTV News that on May 26 local time, a source close to the Iranian negotiation team said that one of the main points of contention in the Iran-U.S. negotiations at present is the issue of unfreezing Iran’s overseas funds. The source said that the United States had once “backed down” on matters related to fulfilling its commitments, but Iran insists that, before the agreed funds arrive, “any agreement is impossible to reach.” Iran said that, after coordination with Qatar, the relevant issue has made some progress. However, given the United States’ history of “breaking promises,” Iran “has made preparations for all possible scenarios.”
