Just spent way too much time comparing commodity trading platforms because I wanted to actually understand what's out there. Honestly, there's way more options than I thought.

So like, the main thing that surprised me is how different each platform is depending on what you're trying to do. If you're just starting out, you've got Mitrade and AvaTrade that actually make sense - not overwhelming interfaces. But if you're more experienced and want to get into futures or options, Interactive Brokers and Saxo Bank are in a totally different league. The fee structures are wild too - some charge commissions, some just use spreads, and the spreads range from basically nothing to like 2 points depending on the platform.

What's interesting is the commodity trading platforms I looked at all seem to have figured out different niches. Like eToro has that copy trading thing which is kinda genius for beginners. IG Group and CMC Markets are loaded with research tools if you actually want to do analysis. Plus500 keeps it stupid simple. And Interactive Brokers is basically built for people who trade seriously and don't care about hand-holding.

The commodities themselves are pretty standard across most platforms - oil, gold, natural gas, agricultural stuff, metals. But the number of instruments varies. Some have like 15 options, others have over 100.

I think the real deciding factor for me would be: are you trying to learn, or are you already decent at this? Because the best commodity trading platforms for someone just starting are completely different from what an experienced trader needs. Also fees matter way more than people think when you're trading frequently.

Anyone else use any of these? Curious what people actually prefer in practice.
