According to FT reports, Bitcoin mining company MARA Holdings' latest DEF14A filing shows that the company paid approximately $4.3 million in personal security-related expenses for CEO Fred Thiel, including a one-time vehicle ballistic armor cost of $430k and home security installation costs of $58k; at the same time, about $430k was paid for CFO Salman Khan's personal security, including approximately $438k for vehicle ballistic armor. MARA's board of directors stated that because the company publicly holds a large amount of Bitcoin assets, executives face "direct security threats" over the long term.
