Hey, I’m seeing a lot of people starting to invest in 2026 right now, and I keep wondering how to choose the best brokerage for beginners—it’s getting harder and harder. I mean, there are literally dozens of options now, from traditional banks to these new fintechs that show up every day.
The financial market is pretty interesting at the moment. The Selic rate started to fall from 15% to around 12–12.5%, and that’s really moving things around. Just in January 2026, more than R$ 26 billion in foreign capital went into the stock market—something I haven’t seen in a long time. The Ibovespa is climbing nicely, and analysts are talking about 180,000 to 240,000 points in the coming years. Basically, it’s an interesting time for people who are just starting out.
But then comes the question: which platform should you choose? Because, man, each one has its own style. There’s XP, which is comprehensive and offers a bit of everything; Toro, which is cheap for people who want to do day trading; Nubank (Nu Invest), which is super practical in the app; and BB, which has that traditional bank kind of security. Then there’s Clear, focused on stocks; BTG Pactual Digital for people who want something more sophisticated; Órama, which is independent and very intuitive; and Mitrade, if you want to trade global markets and CFDs.
The point is: there’s no single “best brokerage for beginners” that fits everyone, you know? It depends a lot on what you want to do. If it’s fixed income and Tesouro Direto, some are better. If you want stocks, others have the advantage. If you want to start with not much money, some don’t charge any fees.
What I’m seeing is that in 2026 it’s become much easier to open an account, the platforms are way more intuitive, and costs have dropped a lot. A lot of brokerages are offering free basic services to attract beginners. It used to be more expensive, but now there are options for every budget.
But honestly, the important thing is to choose one that you trust, has a good reputation, decent educational tools, and support that actually works. Because any misstep at the beginning can scare people and make them give up. That’s why so many people look for the best brokerage for beginners—they want security and they don’t want to regret it later.
Which one are you using? I’m curious to know which one is the favorite right now in this market moment.
