I just noticed that there are quite a few countries in the world with the weakest currencies, and it's not just poor countries. Some large economies also face inflation or political instability that causes their currencies to weaken.

Looking at the list of the 10 countries with the weakest currencies, I see that Lebanon's pound is number one, followed by Iran's rial, Vietnam dong, and Laos kip. Iran's rial has depreciated due to economic sanctions. Most Southeast Asian countries have economies heavily reliant on commodity exports and agriculture, which is why their currencies are not strong.

What’s interesting is that most of these countries with the weakest currencies face similar problems: high inflation, political instability, and a lack of economic diversification. When looking at the exchange rates, some countries need hundreds of thousands of their currency units to exchange for just one US dollar. This is a clear sign that their economies are really struggling.
