I’m looking to start investing, but with little money, so I began researching which trading apps work well when you barely have any capital to start. What I found is that you no longer need to be a millionaire to get into this—there are several trading apps designed specifically for people like us.
MiTrade caught my attention because you can start with just $20. The interface is clean, without too much noise, and that matters when you’re just getting started. They have integrated TradingView charts, and the demo account gives you $50,000 in virtual money so you can practice without losing any real money. If you’re a beginner, honestly, it’s hard to find anything better.
AvaTrade is more for people who already know what they’re doing. Founded in 2006, it has interesting features like ZuluTrade to automate investments. The minimum deposit is $100, and you can trade via MetaTrader 4 or 5 if you’re the kind of trader who loves having all the professional tools.
Plus500 is listed on the London Stock Exchange and has a ridiculous number of assets—more than 2,800. They recently entered the U.S. market with futures, so if you’re looking for variety, you’ll find it here. The minimum deposit is also $100.
XM is interesting if high leverage is your thing. They offer up to 1000x, but obviously that’s risky. They have different account types depending on your level, and the minimum deposit is super low—just $5. It works well with MetaTrader.
eToro is the one everyone knows for copy trading. Basically, you copy the trades of traders who know more than you. Minimum deposit of $50, and it has more than 3,000 assets. It’s social, it’s easy, and it’s for beginners who want to learn by watching others.
The reality is that choosing between these trading apps depends a lot on your profile. Are you a beginner? MiTrade. Do you already have experience? AvaTrade or XM. Do you like copy trading? eToro. Do you want futures and everything else? Plus500. The important thing is that they’re all regulated, they all have low deposits, and they all let you start without needing to be rich. Just remember that trading always involves risk, so practice first with the demo accounts that all of them offer.
