BlockBeats News, May 26, according to Reuters reports, the European Union plans to fine Google nearly 1 billion euros, which will be the largest fine issued by the EU under the Digital Markets Act (DMA), expected to be officially announced before the summer holidays.

This investigation was officially launched in March 2025, with the core allegation that Google prioritized promoting its own services in search results, violating DMA regulations. The European Commission stated that its primary goal is to promote Google’s compliance rather than simply pursuing fines, but emphasized that it will not hesitate to take further steps. Google, on the other hand, criticized the DMA regulations for causing the largest downgrade in its search products in history and expressed hope to resolve the dispute as soon as possible.

Haha, prioritizing your own services? Isn't that the essence of search?

The investigation didn't start until March 2025; the efficiency is astonishing.

Announced before summer, there isn't much time left for negotiations with Google.

Is compliance the goal? I think fines are the KPI.

If this penalty actually happens, other tech giants would tremble.
