I just realized I've been using the wrong US dollar symbol 😅 and only then discovered that the $ symbol is used in over 30 countries, and the US dollar should be written as US$ to distinguish it. Also, the ¥ symbol represents Japanese Yen in Japan and Renminbi in China, no wonder sometimes international transaction documents leave me confused. The most confusing one is ฿, which can represent Thai Baht and also Bitcoin in the crypto market, making it really easy to mix up. Suddenly I remembered that on Mac, you can type the dollar sign directly with Shift+4, and it's the same on Windows, but the Euro symbol € requires Shift+Option+2. These small details seem pretty important when doing forex trading or international transfers, otherwise, seeing $ at a glance might make you think it's US dollars, but it could actually be Canadian dollars or Singapore dollars, which is a big mistake 😂. How do you usually distinguish these symbols?
