Just spent like an hour comparing different commodity trading platforms and honestly, there's way more options than I thought. Been looking into oil and gold trading mainly, and it's wild how different each broker handles it.
So basically you've got two ways to go at this – either mess with actual commodities or use CFDs if you want to short or leverage up. I was checking out Mitrade first since everyone talks about it, and yeah, the spreads are pretty clean, no commission nonsense. The interface is actually not trash for beginners, which is rare. Plus they let you trade with up to 1:400 leverage on some metals, so that's interesting if you're into that.
eToro's got this whole copy trading thing which is lowkey useful if you don't wanna figure everything out yourself. But their spreads are kinda higher compared to the others. Then there's Plus500 if you want something dead simple – no commissions, just spreads, and decent risk tools. IG Group is more for the serious traders with their research stuff and charting tools, but the fees add up.
CMC Markets and Saxo Bank are like the premium options – lots of features but steep learning curve. Interactive Brokers is cheap if you're trading high volume, but yeah, not beginner-friendly at all. AvaTrade's okay if you want educational content and MetaTrader support.
Lowkey the best commodity trading platforms really depend on what you're doing. If you're just starting, Mitrade or eToro make sense. But if you're grinding daily trades or managing big positions, you'll probably want something with more advanced tools. Anyone else been comparing these platforms recently?
