On May 26, Thai authorities confirmed that the remains of the previously missing Russian crypto investor Maxim Garbuzov were found at an unclaimed foreigners’ communal burial site in Bangkok. The head of a volunteer organization said his cause of death was a fall from a height inside the hotel where he was staying.

The report said the search was delayed by nearly 5 months because police had incorrectly recorded his surname in registration documents. Currently, his family and volunteers are moving forward with the body exhumation process, and the plan afterward is to cremate the remains and transport them back to Saint Petersburg. The report also said that Maxim Garbuzov had been living in Pattaya for a long time, engaged in crypto investment and financial operations related to exchanges.
