The blockchain has really been slow these days... mempool is like a queue window, when congestion hits, your transaction first stays in "waiting," miners/packagers will prioritize those with higher fees, if you pay less, it just gets stuck, and it also locks the subsequent nonce, wanting to cancel the order means sending another, more expensive transaction to replace it. Basically, it's paying to cut in line.

Now I’d rather be a bit slower: either wait until there's less congestion to act, or fill in with the worst acceptable cost from the start, otherwise getting stuck halfway is the most uncomfortable, especially when the liquidation threshold is close. Recently, I heard that some regions are increasing taxes and tightening compliance, and as deposit and withdrawal expectations change, everyone moves their positions together, making the chain even slower... Anyway, I’ll keep a higher collateral ratio so that "being a half step late" doesn’t turn into forced liquidation.
