Trump Claims Peace Negotiations With Iran Are Going Very Well
Donald Trump claims that the peace negotiation process with Iran is currently going very well. Through a post on his Truth Social platform on Monday (May 25), Trump emphasized that this agreement must be a big deal that benefits all parties. If not, he states it's better not to have any agreement at all.
In line with these developments, Trump urges countries in the Middle East to immediately expand regional political stability. He calls on Arab and Muslim countries, especially Saudi Arabia and Qatar, to sign the Abraham Accords promptly to normalize diplomatic relations fully, even opening the door for Iran to participate in the peace coalition.
At the same time, diplomatic efforts continue to move forward in parallel on the ground. Citing an exclusive report from Reuters on Monday (May 25), an official briefed on the visit revealed that Iran’s parliamentary leader, Qalibaf, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi are currently in Doha to hold direct discussions with Qatar’s Prime Minister to explore the potential final agreement with the U.S.
According to the Reuters source, the intensive talks in Doha mainly focus on reopening the Strait of Hormuz and managing enriched uranium supplies. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, stated that the draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) containing 14 points is focused on ending the war and stopping the U.S. naval blockade, in exchange for guarantees of transit security through the strategic strait.
